Barefoot King Wine

Barefoot King Cabernet Sauvignon Harvest 2013

Barefoot King is the human imprint of a handcrafted Cabernet Sauvignon from the terroir of Kalamata region in Southern Peloponnese, an area with a tradition in wine over 4,000 years.

Crafted in small batches by artisans, from soil to bottle to cellar by using mechanical process in combination with barefoot grape stomping to make grapes into wine. The warm climate and vintages create a fleshy purple wine with soft tannins rich in aromas of spices, ripe red fruits and vanilla. . It is a fleshy purple wine with soft tannins rich in aromas of spices, ripe red fruits and vanilla. It has a velvety taste that leaves a distinct long aftertaste to the mouth. It perfectly accompanies red meat, hunting and strong red sauces. Ideal for 16-18 ° C.

General Info:
• To Stomp or Not to Stomp… While there are winemakers who still tread their grapes by foot, nowadays, modern viticulture methods employ the use of presses to do much of the work to extract the juice from the fruit. However, the die-hard traditionalists claim the foot stomping method is the best way to gain vital information about the density and temperature of the cap, in order to gauge the precise stage of the fermentation
• Fruit by the Foot
• Grape-stomped wine is making a comeback
• The art of grape stomping
• The foot is actually the perfect natural machine for crushing grapes. The pressure from human force is gentle enough so that the seeds won’t break, which can release an unideal astringent taste into the wine. A human has the intuitive control over when to stop.

Grecian Chic

Grecian Chic

Grecian Chic Silk Scarves & Twillys
by Elena Zournatzi
The story:
It was in 2011, at the beginning of a summer holiday when accompanied by the warmth of the Greek sun and the dark blue of the Aegean sea, an idea was born; to combine the elegance of the silk with the strong culture of my birth country. Chic Silk

The Grecian Chic has two collections one inspired from everyday life and the other from the history and mythology. Both collections feature silk scarves, pocket squares and twillys. The “Classical” derives its source of inspiration from the history, traditions and even mythology! The “Grecian Life” is more whimsical representing everyday life in a comical way. Main character is the Grecian Lady who travels around the islands and mountainous villages to pose next to cult male figures! Visits the biggest European cities and explores them though the eyes of a greek! The Grecian Lady character was originally born in 2007, when Elena was asked to illustrate the windows of Hermes boutique in Athens and she designed 4 figures dancing.
All of the designs are to their finest detail hand pencil drawings on paper before colour is added to bring them to life! The final drawings are digitally printed on 100% pure Twill silk and each scarf has a hand-rolled hemming finish. All products are made in England!
The Greek Design meets British Craftsmanship!
Grecian Chic has designed custom scarves specially for the Acropolis Museum of Athens, the Cyprus Museum of Nicosia and for greek jewelry designers Liana Vourakis and Katerina Ioannidis. Recently presented and sold a selection of silk scarves at the British Museum for the opening of the exhibition “Troy – myth & reality”. The pilots, air hostesses and ground staff of Danish airline “Global Reach Aviation” wear silk scarves and ties specially designed by Grecian Chic.
